Revolutionary operas grew.
Planned and engineered with care,
By Jiang Qing, a woman rare.
Against foreign foes, they sought.
No emperors or kings were seen,
But heroes of the common scene.
Their bravery sung in every song.
Mao Zedong's thought took center stage,
In the victory of communism's age.
These operas had a special look.
On posters, postcards, and stamps they appeared,
On plates, teapots, and calendars revered.
Their stories to the masses they revealed.
The Eight Model Operas took the stage,
"Eight hundred million people watched," they engage.
