Zschernig v. Miller

In the land of laws and rights so grand, A case was heard, a case so unplanned. Zschernig and Miller, they came to fight, In the highest court, under the bright sunlight. The state of Oregon had a statute in place, But the Supreme Court found it a legal disgrace. For it intruded, you see, where it shouldn't be, Into foreign affairs, where the federal realm should be free. No conflict with treaties or statutes found, But the Court declared it unconstitutional, profound! Protecting the federal realm, they did decree, For foreign affairs, the federal government's key. Zschernig and Miller, their names forever known, In the annals of history, their case was shown. A lesson for all, young and old alike, To understand the balance, between federal and state. So let us learn from this case so wise, To respect the boundaries, and not compromise. For in the land of laws, we must understand, The delicate dance of federal and state, hand in hand.
