AM-272
Once upon a time, in World War's might,
A ship called USS Peril sailed through the night,
An Admirable-class minesweeper, so grand,
Protecting the seas, with a steady hand.
Built for the Navy, in '44 she was made,
With courage and strength, she never did fade,
Through stormy waters, she fearlessly sailed,
Her crew by her side, their spirits never paled.
In '45, a transfer was made,
To the Soviet Union, her course was laid,
Renamed T-281, she sailed with pride,
In the Soviet Navy, she'd now reside.
With her new comrades, she swept the sea,
Clearing the mines, setting the waters free,
Through trials and triumphs, they stood as one,
T-281, a ship second to none.
So let us remember, USS Peril's tale,
A ship that prevailed, through storm and gale,
In the annals of history, her name shall remain,
USS Peril, T-281, forever in our refrain.
