Acacia Hills, Northern Territory
In Acacia Hills, so far away,
Where the acacia shrubs do sway,
A rural land with open space,
A peaceful haven, a quiet place.
Mango trees, oh so grand,
Their fruits are cherished, oh so grand,
Farmers toil with love and care,
Harvesting sweetness, beyond compare.
Stuart Highway, a road so wide,
Connecting towns, side by side,
Adelaide-Darwin rail corridor too,
Bringing people, old and new.
But in '99, a fateful day,
Acacia Hills was in disarray,
A shootout shook the peaceful land,
A bushman's act, hard to understand.
And in 2021, a tale untold,
Used tyres found, a story bold,
The Environmental Authority said,
Remove them all, they must be led.
Acacia Hills, a place of lore,
With stories old and stories more,
A land of beauty, nature's grace,
Where children play and dreams embrace.
