Bi-smi llah
In the name of God, we begin,
A phrase so important, let's dive in.
It's the Basmala, so full of grace,
Before good deeds, we embrace.
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
These words bring comfort, they're beautiful.
Muslims recite them every day,
Before they start, in every way.
In constitutions of many lands,
The Basmala stands, strong and grand.
Afghanistan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia too,
It's the first phrase, a message true.
In the Qur'an, it's recited with care,
Before each chapter, it's always there.
Except for one, the ninth, you see,
A special chapter, it's meant to be.
The Basmala's roots, ancient and deep,
In Arabian inscriptions, its secrets keep.
From the 5th and 6th centuries, it came,
A timeless phrase, with a lasting flame.
