In Futa Tooro, a land so grand, Lived a scholar, tall and grand, Hadji Oumarûl Foutiyou Tall, His wisdom, like a waterfall. With Tijani sufi teachings bright, He spread knowledge day and night, In Senegal, his words did ring, Guiding hearts, like a song to sing. A military commander bold, His empire, a story to be told, Toucouleur Empire, vast and wide, From Senegal to Mali's side. Guinea and Mauritania too, Under his rule, they all grew, Unity and peace, he did seek, For all the lands, strong and meek.
