NOAAS Chapman
In the deep blue sea, where the fishes roam,
There sailed a vessel called NOAAS Chapman, all alone.
With a crew of scientists, brave and true,
They studied the ocean, discovering something new.
From 1980 to 1998, she sailed with pride,
A fisheries research vessel, on the NOAA's side.
Exploring the waters, far and wide,
Learning about marine life, with every tide.
After her NOAA days came to an end,
She found a new purpose, my dear friend.
The University of Puerto Rico gave her a new role,
As the R/V Chapman, she continued to patrol.
But her adventures didn't stop there, oh no,
In CuraƧao, she found a new place to go.
Becoming a mothership for the Curasub,
Taking explorers to the deep, with a gentle rub.
So, let's raise our voices and give a cheer,
For NOAAS Chapman, the vessel we hold dear.
She taught us about the ocean's grand tapestry,
And inspired us to protect it, for all to see.
