Nyaania Creek
A creek that flows, so gentle and kind
Nyaania Creek, it's called with pride
A seasonal tributary, by the Helena River's side
Through hills suburbs, it starts to sing
Glen Forrest, Darlington, Boya too
Nyaania Creek, it flows right through
On maps from 1902 to 1920, it used to be
But in the 1920s, a new name was found
Nyaania Brook, a name renowned
Nyaania Creek, forever to claim
Its importance lies in the land it flows
Through private lands, where beauty grows
To keep Nyaania Creek clean and bless
Herbicides and contaminants, we must beware
To keep our water safe and fair
Using fertilizers wisely, to keep Nyaania whole
And let's not forget the weeds that grow
In difficult places, where they love to show
With reserves nearby, for all to share
It runs along the Railway Reserve Trail
A heritage gem, where memories prevail
