RNAS Culham

In Culham town, so fair and bright, Stood an airbase, shining in the light, Royal Naval Air Station, it was called, Where brave sailors and pilots were enthralled. With runways three and hangars tall, They trained reservists, one and all, Seafires and Sea Furies took to the sky, Harvards soaring, oh so high. The Photographic Trials Unit came, In May '47, they made their name, 1840 Naval Air Squadron, too, For a short time, their duties they'd pursue. Cadets from Dartmouth, oh so keen, Learned to fly in gliders, a sight unseen, Ab initio training, a thrilling quest, In Culham's skies, they were truly blessed. So let us remember, with hearts so true, The brave sailors and pilots, in skies of blue, Royal Naval Air Station, a place of dreams, Where adventure and courage forever gleams. Random page: Psalm 131
