Sjoegren's Syndrome
In a land of glands, where moisture is made,
Sjögren's syndrome comes, a curious trade.
It affects the body, both near and far,
Drying up the glands, like a desert star.
The tears that should flow from your eyes so bright,
Are scarce and few, like stars in the night.
The salivary glands, oh how they yearn,
For a sip of water, a chance to return.
But Sjögren's doesn't stop at just these two,
It travels through the body, causing a slew.
The lungs, the kidneys, the nervous system too,
All feel its effects, it's sad but true.
So let's learn about this syndrome, my dear,
And lend a helping hand, spreading cheer.
We'll support those affected, far and wide,
With love and understanding, side by side.
Though Sjögren's may be a challenge to bear,
We'll face it together, with strength and care.
And in the face of dryness, we'll find a way,
To bring back the moisture, come what may.
